Appearance:
- Heartwood: pale yellow-brown
- Sapwood: wide and not always clearly distinguishable
- Texture: fine but uneven
- Grain: usually straight except for a central core of about 100mm in diameter
- Growth Rings: prominent
- Knots: very common
